Dentures

There are factors that determine the denture success

  1. Patient health and oral anatomy. This is dictated through your doctor's evaluation. Some patients have favorable bone shape and quality and some other patients have less favorable factors. Discussing those parameters at the consult day helps build up the expectation.

  2. Doctor skill. Dentures are very critical to the doctor ability and experience. Dr Aljonaidy had treated close to 3000 patients with added knowledge from every case.

  3. Product quality, even with the same doctor and patient, a better denture base material can improve the fit by less shrinkage. Better product means less bacterial invasion in the porosities and more strength. Higher Teeth quality means more aesthetics and longer life.

Complete Dentures

It is a very popular prosthetic treatment due to simplicity, affordability and the large demand. More than 36 million Americans do not have any teeth, 90 percent of those have dentures. Dentures are removable prosthesis that are foreign to the body. This holds in nature some adjustment from the patient to a new life style.

Partial Dentures

The number of partially edentulous patients will continue to increase in the next 15 years to more than 200 million individuals. This affects the majority of adult Americans.

Partial dentures are simple, durable and an affordable teeth replacement that sits around remaining teeth and anchors to them. When patients are unable to get implants placed due to health or cost, partial dentures become a very valuable chewing tool that also hold teeth from shifting and over-erupting. Partial dentures help to keep the load on the teeth as even as possible.

Snap-on Dentures

Also known as Implant retained overdenture or palateless snap on denture.

If you are currently using a conventional denture then you probably deal with sores, teeth rocking and slipping out.

More commonly, patients complain about the lower denture not being retentive or about getting sores on the roof of their mouths. Adding as little as two implants to the lower arch rendered a significantly higher satisfaction in 97% of the studied cases. Snap-on dentures are a more secure type of dentures that clip in place. Shifting or dislodging is unlikely because the denture is secured with implants. It is considered to be a very cost efficient investment.

Immediate Dentures

Immediate dentures can be complete or partial. Replace single or multiple teeth. Some patients might have poor teeth prognosis that’d require extraction of teeth. This could be due to periodontal condition or severe decay.

In this case, immediate dentures can be fabricated before removal of all teeth after a preliminary impression is taken and then inserted immediately after removal of remaining teeth. They will help protect your gums while you heal and make the transition to permanent dentures easier.

They are provisional and not tailored to your mouth like permanent dentures. You should not remove dentures after 24-48 hours after extraction. It acts like a bandage during the initial healing of the surgical area. They can last 6-9 months until replaced.

Hybrid Denture

Hybrid implant denture is a combination between both dental implants and traditional dentures. Hybrid denture is a full set of replacement teeth resting on dental implants (implant supported denture). With the arrival of the solid zirconia full-arch implant retained prosthesis we now have a prosthetic option that offers the stability and performance of dental implants with better cost.

Avoiding disadvantages of conventional dentures, hybrid dentures give better, non-fake appearance and are easier to maintain. Just like your natural teeth you need to brush them twice daily. Hybrid dentures are designed to be securely fit, fixed in place and permanent so they can only be removed by the dentist.
